Three Positions Up 20%+ in 25 Days
A strong start for the watchlist. An even stronger one for the portfolio.

The first month is nearly in the books.
The SCRai - my 40-stock basket of asymmetric ideas - is up 2.30% against the S&P 500’s 0.89% with a few days left in January.
Early days. One month means nothing in isolation. But the signal is encouraging.
More interesting than the headline number: three positions are already up over 20%.
QXO (+21.25%), CEK.DE (+21.79%), and AAP (+20.26%) have all moved meaningfully in just 25 days of trading.
On the other side, a few names are dragging - Constellation Software (CSU.TO) down 14%, Topicus (TOI.V) down 11%, and Lumine (LMN.V) down 9%. The Canadian tech names have had a rough start to the year. However, I remain bullish on all three over the long run - these are high-quality serial acquirers with proven capital allocation track records.
As outlined when I launched the index, rebalancing happens quarterly. The first review will come at the end of Q1 2026. Until then, the basket stays fixed.
You can track the full performance in real time using the table below.
But here’s the thing…
The SCRai is a broad basket. 40 names. Diversified across sectors and geographies. Designed to surface asymmetric opportunities I can’t fit into my own portfolio.
It’s useful. It’s transparent. And I think it will outperform over time.
But it’s not where my highest conviction sits.
My concentrated portfolio - currently 8 positions, long holding periods, letting winners run - is up 14.1% year-to-date.
That’s where I put my own money. That’s where the deep-dive analysis goes. That’s what paid subscribers get access to.
If you want to see what’s driving that performance - and get the full thesis behind each position - upgrade below.
