After months of refining my approach, it’s time for evolution.
Schwar Capital Ideas is becoming Schwar Capital Research.
This isn’t just a name change.
It’s a fundamental restructuring of how I share asymmetric investment opportunities.
The New Structure
Starting next week, Schwar Capital Research delivers value through three distinct pillars:
1. Philosophy (Free for Everyone)
The mental models and frameworks that drive asymmetric returns. How I think about capital allocation, competitive advantages, and long-term compounding. No paywall. Just clear thinking about what actually matters in investing.
2. The Portfolio (Premium)
This is the core - what I’m actually doing with capital:
- Portfolio Strategy - How I’m thinking about position sizing and capital deployment
- Stock Thesis - Deep dives on actual portfolio positions
- Earnings Summaries - What matters from recent reports
Real positions. Real analysis. Real skin in the game.
3. The SCRai - Schwar Capital Research Asymmetry Index (Premium)
This is where things get interesting.
The SCRai tracks my best asymmetric ideas beyond the portfolio. The reality is, I find far more exceptional opportunities than any single portfolio can hold. A portfolio requires careful construction - positions need to work in harmony, correlations matter, and concentration demands the highest conviction.
But that leaves dozens of compelling ideas on the table.
The SCRai captures these opportunities. Each one reflects what I view as an asymmetric setup though not necessarily suitable for the current portfolio.
With Cliff Notes: Instead of a list of tickers, I’ll share concise thesis summaries outlining how I’m thinking about each setup. These are reference points for independent research.
Segmented Sub-Indexes: As the index grows, we’ll segment into categorised watchlists:
- Small-cap opportunities
- Large-cap asymmetry
- Key industry plays
- Regional focuses
Making it easier to navigate and find ideas that match your own criteria.
(Apologies for any inconsistencies with the index before - we had some teething issues. Now we’re sticking with a consistent format that actually delivers value.)
Why This Structure Works
The Portfolio shows you concentrated conviction. The SCRai shows you the broader universe of asymmetric opportunities.
They complement each other perfectly.
Some stocks graduate from the Index to the Portfolio when timing and portfolio construction align.
Others might rotate out as better opportunities emerge.
It’s a living ecosystem of asymmetric ideas.
Unlike Schwar Capital, Schwar Capital Research constantly monitors and shares a universe of stocks that fit my investing approach. You’re not just seeing the final portfolio selections - you’re seeing the full spectrum of stocks I’m tracking.
What This Means for You
This new structure combines two complementary elements under a single subscription.
- A concentrated portfolio approach - Following real positions with detailed analysis
- A comprehensive research platform - Access to my complete universe of asymmetric opportunities
Think about it: most research services offer either a portfolio or general analysis. Schwar Capital Research provides both, the actual portfolio insights and the wider research context.
Starting Next Week
Monday kicks off with the new SCRai format - 10 asymmetric ideas with cliff notes. Several names you may not have seen before, each analysed for its risk–reward profile based on my current research.
Schwar Capital Research isn’t about finding the next hot stock.
It’s about systematically identifying asymmetric opportunities where downside is limited and upside is multiples of current prices.
The Portfolio shows you concentrated conviction. The SCRai shows you the hunting grounds. Philosophy shows you how to think about both.
More structure. More value. Same price.
